SP451; The Soundfield-microphone forms the practical basis of the Ambisonics-system (after M.A.Gerzon) that can provide complete periphonic sound-reproduction. For 5.1-loudspeaker-setups the
special decoder (B-Format to 5.1) required is
called „Vienna“-decoder.
The Soundfield-company produces their own B-Format-to-5.1-converter, the SP451 (not a Vienna-Decoder). It shall be noted that for horizontal reproduction the Z-channel is omitted.
