The lessons will be done entirely during the second semester: 5 theoretical lessons of 4h each, just before Easter, and 5 interactive labs for preparing the project, after Easter.


This course assumes that students have already acquired some basic knowledge during their three-years degree, and in particular:

Theoretical background - 2nd semester\

5 "workshops" of 4h each are planned, in March-April 2022 (before Easter)

During these workshops, particularly during the last two ones, students should carry their own laptops in the classroom, having installed the software which later will be employed for the project:

Exam Project (Laboratory) - 2nd Semester
The activity carried out in the first part of the course, before Easter, is aimed at developing a project, to be carried out during the second part (after Easter 2022), which is assigned to groups of 2 students.
Students are entrusted with the drafting of a urban planning project related in an urban context with high population density, for which they will have to produce the technical documentation required by the current regulatory framework, and more specifically the following two documents:

At each lesson, some students present the progress of their project and the whole class interacts providing suggestions and criticisms. 5 interactive labs of 4h each are planned, for a total of 20 hours. The labs will be in Aula Disegno 2 - Campus - Didactical Engineering, between14.30 and 18.30, in the following days:

The labs will be in presence only and will not be recorded, as the new regulations on teaching methods (DR 540 of 30-03-2022), which came into force on 1 April 2022, exclude the possibility of carrying out laboratory activities in synchronous or asynchronous streaming, and provide for the recording of lessons only.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IT STILL MANDATORY TO USE FFP2 MASKS, to maintain an adequate social distance, and to periodically sanitize the hands with the special gel available in the classroom.

Those unable to come to the classroom must use the two hours of weekly reception, during which the possibility of remote connection via MS Teams is maintained, as clearly indicated on the teacher's Home Page.

Students coming to the classroom should carry their own laptop, and being equipped for connecting it to the video projection system, for showing the progress done using the acoustical and lighting simulation software, and the resulting documents.

The final aim of the laboratory is the production of two chapters (acoustics, lighting) of the A3 book, which will form the basis of evaluation.
